Hello, I am Ami Tsoi, founder of Deror Jewellery. I was born and raised in Hong Kong and have been working in the finance sector for 7 years. Never have I imagine that one day I would discover another side of myself through handcrafting.
I have always loved handcraft since my young age. Having Inherited the craftsmanship spirit and an aesthetic appreciation from my mother, who worked in the garment industry during the golden age of manufacturing in Hong Kong. I therefore grew up surrounded by fabrics, watching my mother create beautiful fashion pieces.
I was formerly a professional accountant and worked in financial industry. In 2018, I embarked on my self-discovery journey with a 3-month career break in New Zealand. During this time, my creativity was awaken by making handcraft jewellery that speaks to the heart.
In the time of COVID in 2020, I took a bold step to start my entrepreneurial journey of "Deror Jewellery", amidst many objections around me. Making jewellery gives me a lot of joy and life. I find my design inspirations from nature and solitude, spiritual reflection and from people's stories. My desire is to express these core essences in jewellery pieces that are not merely chic accessories, but impart a beautiful meaning within every piece.
